Teddy & Me came about through my
involvement with premature baby charity
ADAPT based in Leicester. I wanted to help alleviate the problem of finding suitable, correctly sized clothes for babies weighing less than 8lbs (3.5kg).

Our neonatal clothing range has been specifically developed for premature, poorly and low birth weight babies, following eighteen months of investigative trials and research, involving neonatal specialists; and mums of special care babies.

Designed to take into consideration any leads, drips or monitors your baby may have, they're comfortable, practical and correctly sized.

Special attention has been given to all aspects of our range, from silky soft wash care labels that are positioned away from baby’s delicate skin; to the soft flat seaming which adorns our clothes.

.

Teddy & Me clothes are as special as the babies who wear them and their development has been a true labour of love.

As parents of a premature baby, my husband and I know how emotionally draining and frightening the experience is.

Our son Daniel arrived unexpectedly at 34 weeks, after I developed pre-eclampsia and the lesser known complication, HELLP syndrome.

As well as providing you with lots of helpful information, we have included essential accessories for those early days.

I hope you enjoy browsing our website.

Sharon x

Back in 2008 Sharon Ward was featured in ITV's Mumpreneur competition, where she had just two minutes to impress the judges with her premature and tiny baby clothes, in a  selection process similar to the BBC Two programme Dragons Den.

ITV's panel of expert judges included entrepeneurs Tim Cambell, who won the first Apprentice; Emma Harrison, Chairman and founder of A4E, a large re-employment agency; and Judy Naake, who brought St Tropez to the UK. Competition was strong but they decided unanimously that Teddy & Me was one of the UK's best mum-run businesses.

Sharon made it to the finals of Mumpreneur beating thousands of entries in the competition. Claire O'Connor eventually won the title of Mumpreneur with Baby Ballet.

Teddy & Me had been championed by Judy Naake throughout the competition, so much so, that Judy gave Sharon her phone number. Sharon's appearance on This Morning generated lots of interest and Judy offered to meet to see how she could help.

Judy was so enthusiastic about Teddy & Me she decided to invest in the company and has since joined Sharon as a Director.

"Following my appearance on This Morning we were inundated with requests for details about our clothes, from as far away as Dubai. Judy's investment will allow us to take advantage of the many opportunities that have come our way." - Sharon

Mumpreneur Pitch

"Every six minutes in the UK a baby is born needing neonatal special care. Imagine if that were your baby, a baby so small you could hold them in the palm of your hand.

The need to keep these tiny babies warm led to the creation of Teddy & Me, a range of premature baby clothes developed with the help of neonatal specialists. Not only do they fit but they are designed to accommodate any drips, leads or monitors your baby may have. They're practical, comfortable and made in the United Kingdom."

- The pitch that won Sharon Ward,   creator of Teddy & Me, a place in the
final of ITV's This Morning Mumpreneur competition.
